Daybook, Jame Begg, Justice of the Peace Roxborough Township.

Be it remembered that this 24th day of April in the year of Our Lord 1866 Luke Kilorne of the Township of Roxborough in the United Counties Yeoman in his proper person cometh before me James Begg Esquire one of Her Majesty’s Justices of the Peace in and for the said United Counties of Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry.  And upon oath maketh complaint that within here two days past a yellow cow was felonioulsy stolen and taken from the barnyard of the said Luke Kilorne situated at Roxborough and Counties aforesaid by some person or persons unknown and that he hath just cause to suspect and doth suspect that the said cow is concealed about the premises of William Tait of the Township of Roxborough and Counties aforesaid Labourer for the said Luke Kilorne upon his oath doth depose and say that he saw the cow locked up in the stable of the said William Tait and thereupon the said Luke Kilorne prayeth that Justice may be done him in premises and a search warrant granted.

Taken before me at Rosborough this 4th day of April in the year of Our Lord 1866.
