St. John Ambulance Cornwall, Ontario

scan0044Letterhead for The St. John Ambulance Association, Cornwall Centre, 1934.  The local branch dates its founding from 1940, but according to George Tyo in a 1982 letter to Cornwall historian Elinor Kyte Senior, the local group may pre date 1940.  Tyo wrote:

“As most of our early documents were destroyed in a fire, I can only give you the history of St. John Ambulance form the early 1940s.

The above document provides a glimpse of the preceding years.  Dr. Hamilton was president, Mr. S.F.W. Snelgroe, Chairman, Mr. D.B. Millidge, Treasurer, Mr. W.B. Ferguson, Secretary, and Mr. J.A. Cadieux, director.
