The Cornwall paper mill held a community-wide open house in 1983. This was the first opportunity in 23 years for families of Mill employees and the community at large to tour the Mill. The Open House coincided with the 100th anniversary of the production of the first sheet of paper on April 27, 1883. It was primarily focused on providing Mill employees with an opportunity to show pride in their place of work.
Visitor Attendance was very impressive:
3:00 – 4:00 p.m.
4:00 – 5:00 p.m.
5:00 – 6:00 p.m.
6:00 – 7:00 p.m.
7:00 – 8:00 p.m.
The Organizing Committee members were selected using the following criteria – the department they worked in was on the tour route and they were good solid employees with an interest.
