Artifact of the Week. Vase depicting High School, Alexandria.

Souvenir vase showing “High School, Alexandria.”  Made in the 1920s the image is from a postcard of an earlier date.  9.8 cm tall x 3 cm x 5.5 cm

“Made in Germany” is stamped on the base.

Alexandria’ first high school opened in 1965.  The school depicted here, was the third high school and was used from 1894 until 1945.

The Cornwall Community Museum has a large collection of souvenir ceramics depicting important buildings in the United Counties.
