Today Cornwallites celebrate the New Year and the start of a year-long celebration of our nation’s 150th anniversary of Confederation.
The City has arranged decorative lighting in Lamoureux Park, a series of events and will keep the recreational path cleared throughout the winter to encourage festivities.
Your Cornwall Community Museum is a proud sponsor of the decorative twinkle lights in the park.
This evening revelers enjoyed free horse-drawn sleigh rides in the park, toboggan slides and show shoeing as well as large-screen TV Cogeco videos depicting Cornwall history and cuddling by an open fire. Even the play structures are decorated. Refreshments were available at Mocktails.
During the early part of the day there were family-friendly events including snowball toss, Christmas tree decorating and a snowman making contest.
Even the plane at the Air Force Wing is lit up.
