License issued to Richard Cleary, Township of Cornwall, Feb. 26, 1872.  Cost $10. Signed by Anderson, the Township Clerk, and J. Snetsinger, Reeve, Cornwall Tonwship.  A year later Snetsinger became Warden; MPP for Cornwall and Cornwall Township 1872 – 79; MP for Stormont, 1896 – 1900.

This document was acquired by the archives of the Cornwall Community Museum in 2008, and is just one example of many local 19th century tavern license’s in our collection.
