Burl butter bowl and ladle, circa 1830.

This burl bowl and ladle measures 15.5 cm x 52 cm x 41 cm, and was donated to the Cornwall Community Museum in 1957.  It is said to have belonged to John Annable Senior of Moulinette, Upper Canada, circa, 1830.

The bowl is handmade out of a single piece of wood.  The rounded handles at each end are fashioned from bowl.

On display in the Museum’s kitchen.
